VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Position Title:                                    CYP – Cook   FULL TIME POSITION

Physical Location:                             Child & Youth Center

                                                            Naval Support Activity Panama City

Grade/Series/Rate:                            NA-7404-08, Step 01 - $12.89 per hour

                                                            Six months Step 02 - $13.40

Employment Category:                     Full Time, Benefits Available

Regular Schedule:                              Monday – Friday, 5:45 AM – 2:15 PM

Area of Consideration:                       Local Commuting Area

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:     

Prepares, cooks, seasons, and portions food for all meals by following standardized recipes at different levels of difficulty.  Plans, regulates, and schedules cooking procedures so that numerous completed food products are ready at the appropriate temperature and time.  Plans and coordinates the preparation of an entire meal.  Prepares a variety of menu items using several different and complex methods.  Performs other duties such as cleaning equipment and keeping kitchen and service area clean. 

QUALIFICATIONS:  Must be at least 18 years old, and have a high school diploma

Requires skill to plan, coordinate and time sequence steps needed to prepare food.  Knowledge of characteristics of various foods and the ability to determine when food is done.

Knowledge of sanitation standards in handling and serving food, and of personal cleanliness and personal hygiene.   Working knowledge of diet principles and knowledge of basic arithmetic in order to determine number of servings per container yields. 

Knowledge of food service equipment as in operation, safety cleaning and sanitation

Must pass a pre-employment physical and provide evidence of immunization and be free from communicable disease.

Must be able to pass all required background checks to include Nation Agency Check with fingerprints
