DutiesThe purpose of this position is to manage the maintenance of all equipment and facilities of the Fleet Readiness Department, administer the Self Help program and leads working parties in the accomplishment of projects.  Operates a forklift in performance of duties.  Acts as purchasing agent for the department.  Assists in the development and execution of the annual budget, as approved by supervisor.  Identifies and labels property/equipment, handles the disposal of property/equipment/materials as necessary, ensuring all is removed from inventory.  Works with Defense Reutilization and Marketing Office (DRMO).  Serves as Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) coordinator for MWR & CYP.

Skills and KnowledgeIncumbent must possess significant knowledge in vocational skills such as carpentry, painting, equipment repair, and the operation of machinery.  Ability to operate a forklift, or be able to obtain forklift license with in 6 months of hire.  Knowledge of non-appropriated funds, procurement and inventory procedures and have the ability to supervisor and direct subordinates.  Must have neat, clean appearance, good customer service skills, telephone etiquette, and be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.  Must have computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office (WORD, EXCEL, etc.) and Microsoft Outlook.

Physical Ability:  Must be able to perform moderately strenuously physical labor as lifting, moving and carrying equipment/supplies weighing up to 100 lbs is required.  Incumbent will do considerable standing, bending, kneeling, walking, pulling and climb stairs / ladders.  Will work indoors and outdoors.  Will be exposed to hot/cold weather, sun, rain, mud, fumes, dust, scrapes, burns, cuts and falls.  Exertion may be from light to heavy, depending on work assignment.  Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is provided.
