Position Title: Recreation Asst. – Marine Fork Lift Operator
Physical Location: Marina and Community Recreation Facility
Naval Support Activity Panama City
Grade/Series/Rate: NF-0189-02, $15.50 per hour
Employment Category: Flexible – With Medical available per the Affordable Care Act

Schedule: 35-40 hrs p/wk, weekends and holidays as needed

Description of Duties: Coordinates and assists other staff members in preparing recreational facilities and equipment for use in the Community Recreation/Navy Getaway/Marina program. Assists customers with launch and recovery of boats using 20K Marine Forklift. Assists in implementing planned activities and programs by preparing required supplies, material and other resources necessary for operations. Ensures that the facilities and equipment are in good operating order and free of safety hazards. Also assists by answering customer inquiries, providing program information and other duties relating to the operation of the facility.
Operates diesel powered marine forklifts, which are capable of lifting loads weighting 10,000 pounds or more and higher than 168 inches. Drives government vehicle in support of recreation program and events.
Qualification Requirements
- Knowledge of the basic principles and techniques associated with the safe and proper operation of a marina/outdoor recreation facility and associated programs and equipment.
- Must have good communication and customer service skills
- Marine Forklift 20K exp. preferred, but will train if needed.
- Must have valid Florida driver’s license.
- Must successfully pass physical to operate forklift
