Position Title:                                  Recreation Assistant - Tickets and Travel

Physical Location:                           MWR Administration Office, Bldg 468

                                                           Naval Support Activity Panama City

Grade/Series/Rate:                         NF-0189-02, $10.00 -$11.50 P/hr, per Experience

Employment Category:                  Flexible, Medical coverage available

Schedule:                                         35 - 40 Hrs P/Wk, Monday - Friday

Description of Duties:       Responsible for selling a variety of tickets to include local attractions, theme parks, and entertainment events.  Advises and provides information to patrons on purchases of tickets for upcoming events.  Assists with travel and lodging accommodations.  Answers questions and attempts to resolve problems.  Responsible for maintaining adequate ticket stock supply.  Recommends new ticket and tour vendors to supervisor and may contact tourism departments to obtain information on other entertainment and travel venues. 

Responsible for accountability of monies and change fund and for computer data entry of all inventory sales and receipts for all ticket outlets.  Assists in the monthly inventory of tickets and performs other filing and clerical duties.  Ensures office is in neat order, ticket prices are current and promotional materials are current and properly displayed.  Assists with other recreation programs and special events. 

Qualification Requirements

*         1 yr experience in customer service, retail sales and cashiering with Point of Sale system.

*         Knowledge of basic accounting and cash handling and general office practices.

*         Must have positive/outgoing personality, customer service skills, communication skills, neat, clean appearance, telephone etiquette, and likes to travel.

*         Experience with Microsoft Programs WORD, Excel and Outlook

*         Must successfully pass local background checks and submit to other background checks.
