Pay Band/Series NF-0188-03, $20-$22 Per Hour, Per Experience
Physical Location: MWR Department, Naval Support Activity Panama City
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 0930-1800, Occasional evenings, nights and weekends in support of scheduled programs and special events

Duties: The purpose of this position is to manage and administer a comprehensive and diverse year round Single Sailor program with includes day to day operations, development, organization, facilitation, marketing and evaluation of recurring and nonrecurring programs within the Single Sailor Program. Assists in delivery of the Community Recreation Program to deliver recreation programs and special events. Incumbent will maintain reports, set work schedules and evaluate performance of assigned staff. Addresses potential disciplinary and/or performance issues timely and takes appropriate corrective actions as necessary. Supports CNIC’s EEO policy. Coordinates leisure skills development activities and classes using the Sailor Adventure Quest philosophy. Recommends program changes and additions based on seasonal changes and patron input. Directs recruitment and utilization of volunteers for various activities and programs. Conducts Port Operations boarding briefs. Promotes MWR facilities and events through staff and student indoctrination and other large group functions and gatherings. Works directly with the Marketing department to provide quarterly and monthly calendars, electronic media updates and special even programs for the Single Sailor Program. Will perform data entry and create word documents is support of assigned duties. Will answer telephones and provide customer information on upcoming MWR events. Sets up for special functions and events and performing/overseeing custodial and maintenance duties as needed.
Prepares and justifies annual and monthly operating budgets, tracks and monitors credit card purchases, maintains up-to-date records and proper documentation and provides leadership recommendations on the purchase of equipment and supplies needed in support of the Single Sailor Program. Initiates and submits procurement requests for all supplies, equipment, furniture and facility upgrades. Assumes accountability for all equipment used for the Single Sailor program. Maintains excellent relationship with internal and external customers. Work performed in office and center setting and occasionally working outdoors during special functions.
Qualification Requirements
- Four Year degree in Recreation desirable
- Ability to learn MWR policies, rules and regulations involving the work area.
- Knowledge of general office practices and computer skills and experience with inventory and data collection. Excellent customer service skills and proper telephone etiquette
- Prior supervisory experience.
- Experience planning and delivering recreation programs and events.
- Must be able to communicate well both orally and in writing.
- Must successfully pass a local background check and other background checks as required
