Description of Duties:  The Community Recreation program provides recreation events and programs for active duty military, DoD civilians and families.  The Liberty Center is a recreation center for single and/or unaccompanied active military. Our Center includes:
   -The Navy Motion Picture Service program available on Giant Screen TV's  
   -Laptops with free internet access, printers and WiFi
   -Pool Tables, Ping Pong Table, Shuffle Board Table, Air Hockey Table  
   -Video gaming platforms including Wii, PS4, Xbox One
   -Music Room equipped with instruments and recording equipment  
   -Zero Gravity Massage Chairs and Quiet Study Areas
   

The purpose of this position is to create and lead a variety of programmed activities and special events and will assist with publicity for these activities.  Incumbent will assist in maintaining reports, setting work schedules and perform clerical duties such as data entry, creating word documents and monthly calendars.  Will answer telephones and provide customer information on upcoming events.  Assist in setting up for daily use, special functions and events and performing/overseeing custodial and maintenance duties as needed.  Will fill in for manager periodically.  Assists manager in handling staff discrepancies.  Work is performed in office and center setting and occasionally working outdoors during special functions.  

Qualification Requirements

  • Four Year degree in Recreation desirable
  • Ability to learn MWR policies, rules and regulations involving the work area. 
  • Knowledge of general office practices, computer skills such as word processing & spreadsheet knowledge, and experience with inventory and data collection.
  • Excellent customer service skills and proper telephone etiquette.
  • Must be able to communicate well both orally and in writing.
  • Must successfully pass a local background check and other background checks as required
