DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:         Sets up bar for operation, including garnishes for mixed drinks.  Mixes and serves all types of alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages to order.  Prepares light bar snacks.  Keeps bar clean, washing glasses and other bar equipment.  Keeps bar stocked properly and assists in taking inventory, and maintains records on which drinks and liquors are in greatest demand.  

Operates Point Of Sales to accept payment from customers.  At close of shift, completes the Daily Activity Report (DAR), verifies monies collected during shift and drops cashier bag into the safe.  May help stock service bar and serve catered parties from service bar or from portable bars.  May occasionally work special functions, parties, luncheons, and banquets.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to follow a variety of established bar recipes and be able to learn food techniques to meet sanitation and safety standards.  Must be skilled in doing tasks with several steps and must use judgment in sequencing tasks.  2 years practical experience in bartending and cashiering preferred.

All servers must receive certification by completing the Controlling Alcohol Risks Effectively (CARE) course.  New hires must complete this training within 30 days of hire.
